According to CoinDesk, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) issued additional guidance requiring prediction market platforms to properly manage user incentive programs. Companies must correctly submit the relevant filings, ensure that program design and implementation comply with regulatory requirements, and avoid rewards that could encourage improper behavior. The guidance reflects increased regulatory scrutiny of platform promotions, user incentives, and compliance procedures as prediction markets expand rapidly.
According to
Bitcoin.com News, the specification for Bitcoin’s proposed BIP‑54 soft fork, known as Consensus Cleanup, was completed in May 2026. It is designed to address four edge cases in the consensus rules without introducing new Bitcoin functionality. F2pool co-founder Wang Chun said the mining pool would upgrade its nodes if the proposal secured the required majority through the standard BIP‑9 process, but would not signal support in advance. BIP‑54 has been tested on Bitcoin Inquisition, while its formal activation parameters and mainnet vote remain undecided.
According to
Bitcoin.com News, the CFTC ordered prediction market platform Kalshi on August 11 to continue operating according to its normal business practices, after determining that New York State’s attempt to prevent the platform from operating constituted a market emergency. The CFTC warned that forcibly closing a Bitcoin price position expiring at the end of 2026 could prompt traders to unwind Bitcoin and other asset positions simultaneously, while exposing arbitrageurs holding opposite positions to one-sided risk. The order also covers contracts involving interest rates and macroeconomic events.
According to Nikkei, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), Japan’s largest banking group, plans to use blockchain technology to provide instant settlement for certain Japanese government bond (JGB) transactions. The group intends to combine tokenized money market funds and stablecoins to conduct blockchain-based JGB repurchase transactions, shortening the settlement process used in traditional securities markets. The initiative shows how major Japanese financial institutions are exploring the use of tokenized cash instruments in conventional bond trading and settlement.
According to Decrypt, Figure Lending LLC allows borrowers to use Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Solana as collateral and receive cash worth up to 75% of the collateral value while retaining ownership of their tokens. The loans have a 12-month term, a maximum annual interest rate of 12.62%, support same-day funding, and do not require a credit score. Borrowers in certain states may choose liquidation protection, although liquidation may still occur in cases of late payment, default, or violations of loan terms. Falling crypto prices may also trigger margin calls.
According to a post by Adam (@Adam_Tehc), weekly on-chain trading volume indicates that the NFT cycle lasted only around 21 months, even when the period dominated by Blur is included. By comparison, the current Meme coin cycle has continued for nearly three years and is entering its “fourth phase.” Adam noted that Meme coin trading activity has recently rebounded significantly, while NFT trading volume has remained depressed. In terms of duration and market activity, the Meme coin cycle has demonstrated more persistent participation and trading demand than the previous NFT narrative.

According to The Information, Hyperliquid is seeking a compliant pathway to introduce its perpetual futures business to the U.S. market, although the platform currently remains unavailable to U.S. users. The Hyperliquid Policy Center, funded by the Hyper Foundation, has been conducting policy research and advocacy in Washington to promote a regulated access framework for on-chain perpetual futures and decentralized market infrastructure. Greater regulatory clarity could create a pathway for Hyperliquid to offer perpetual futures and related products to U.S. users.

Users should remain alert to approval phishing attacks. Scammers may imitate airdrop, staking, wallet upgrade, or customer support pages to persuade users to connect their wallets and sign token approvals. The attackers can then use those permissions to transfer assets. Chainalysis reported that Operation Atlantic identified more than 20,000 related victims, demonstrating the continued reach of this attack method. Users should verify domains through official project channels, avoid wallet connection links received through private messages, and never disclose seed phrases or private keys. Before signing, carefully review the approved contract, spending limit, and transaction details, and regularly revoke unnecessary contract permissions.
