Most card applications finish in the time it takes to read a short email, which is why a rejection, or a review that just sits there, feels so strange.
This guide covers the three states people actually land in: rejected, still pending, or approved with a card that does not read Active.
The MEXC Global Card is MEXC's second Visa card, launched on August 31, 2026. It sits alongside the original MEXC Card, which remains available in selected Asia-Pacific markets, and the MEXC × ether.fi co-branded card.
Everything below is written for the Global Card, and if you want the full parameter set rather than the troubleshooting path, start with the full MEXC Global Card guide.

Key Takeaways
  • Eligibility follows the country on your proof of address, not your nationality or where you are when you apply.
  • Card review is usually completed within a few minutes, while the Advanced KYC step underneath it is usually reviewed within 24 hours.
  • Every field you type has to match your ID document, because MEXC states that inaccurate information causes review delays.
  • Generally, each verified identity may hold one card of each type.
  • An approval that does not turn Active usually means the first deposit has not gone through yet.
  • If an application is unsuccessful, the full initial amount is returned automatically.

First, Read Your Status: Rejected, Pending, or Approved but Not Active

A rejected application means the card was not opened, and any amount you put in comes back to you.
A pending application has been submitted but not resolved, and since review is usually completed within a few minutes, one running much longer is normally waiting on something specific.
The third case is the sneaky one: the application went through, but the card still does not read Active, which has nothing to do with the review.
You can see which of the three you are in on the My MEXC Card page, where the status turns Active once the card is live.
MEXC also sends a confirmation email to your registered address when an application goes through, so check that inbox first.

7 Reasons a MEXC Card Application Is Rejected or Stuck

They are ordered from the causes you cannot work around to the ones you can fix yourself.

1. Your Proof-of-Address Country Is on the Restricted List

Eligibility is decided by the country shown on your proof of address, which means your passport and your current location both sit outside the decision.
Markets fall into three buckets, and knowing yours tells you whether there is anything to fix:
  • Open: Advanced KYC plus a qualifying proof of address is enough.
  • Limited access: applications are accepted only from a narrower group of users.
  • Unavailable: applications from residents of the restricted list are not accepted.
A proof of address from a restricted country cannot be used, and no additional paperwork changes that outcome.
The current lists live on the official MEXC Card page, and they get updated, so read them there rather than a copy from somewhere else.
For the mechanism behind those buckets and what verification actually asks for, see MEXC Card restricted regions and KYC rules.

2. Your Market Is Limited-Access and Your M-Score Is Below 600

In a limited-access market, applications are accepted only from users with a VVIP M-Score of 600 or above, or through an approved MEXC partner or affiliate channel.
That distinction matters, because this is a tier requirement rather than a documents requirement, and more paperwork does not move a tier.
M-Score is built from trading volume, activity level and security credit, it updates on a T+1 basis, and it starts at 350 one day after you sign up.
Check your current number on the VVIP page first.
If it is lower than you expected, the breakdown of how MEXC VVIP M-Score is calculated shows which activity moves it.

3. Advanced KYC Is Not Complete or Still Under Review

A MEXC account with Advanced KYC completed is required before you can apply, so an incomplete verification blocks the application rather than delaying it.
Advanced KYC has two parts, a government-issued ID document and face recognition, and it is usually reviewed within 24 hours.
Open the Advanced KYC page and read the status there before filling in the card form again.
MEXC's guide to completing Advanced KYC verification walks through both parts in order.

4. The Details You Entered Do Not Match Your ID Document

The application asks you to confirm your name, date of birth and gender, then to enter your ID type, ID number, issuance date, country or region, city and residential address.
MEXC states that inaccurate information causes review delays, and every field has to match the document in your hand, not the version you remember.
Read each one off the document rather than from memory.
The confirmation screen has an Edit button, and using it before you press Next costs far less than working out afterwards which field went wrong.
MEXC's guide to applying for the MEXC Global Card shows each screen in order.

5. MEXC Asked for a Proof-of-Address Document and It Has Not Been Accepted

A proof of address ties your application to a country, which is why that document, not your passport, decides eligibility.
MEXC may ask for the proof-of-address document itself, and requests supporting documentation when it needs it, so an application can sit in pending while that request is outstanding.
Keep the address consistent across your ID, your proof of address and the residential address field, because a mismatch between those three is the version of this problem you can fix.
Applicants for the MEXC Card (APAC) are sometimes asked for extra verification such as proof of address, and the same consistency rule applies.

6. You Already Hold a Card of This Type

Generally, each verified identity may hold one card of each type, which rules out a second application for a card you already have open.
Holding the MEXC Card (APAC) is a separate matter, since that is a different card type rather than the same one twice.
Check what is already issued under your account on the My MEXC Card page before hunting for a more complicated explanation.

7. Approved, but the Card Is Not Active

Activation is tied to the first deposit, so the fee pop-up you saw at the start decides how this one plays out.
If that pop-up showed a First Deposit Amount of 0, the card reads Active on approval; any other figure means the card activates when that amount is moved across from the Fiat Account.
This one is easy to miss.
The Deposit screen only accepts funds already in the Fiat Account, so a Spot Account full of USDT does not help: if the Fiat Account shows 0 USDT, the top-up fails.
Transfer USDT from Spot to Fiat, or buy USDT with Quick Buy or P2P, then run the top-up again.
Funds arrive within minutes, and any initial amount becomes card balance you can spend rather than a fee.

What Happens to Your Initial Deposit If the Application Fails

Nothing is kept.
If the application is unsuccessful, the full amount is returned automatically, with no support ticket and no claim form on your side.
Any initial amount on an approved card becomes card balance, so it was never a charge.
To confirm the return, check your transaction record rather than the card balance, since a card that was never opened will not show one.

What Does Not Cause a MEXC Card Rejection

Three things that look like rejection reasons are not:
  • Income or assets: no income proof, asset audit, credit check or minimum balance is required.
  • A low M-Score: outside limited-access markets you can still apply and spend below M-Score 350, and what changes at 350 is cashback tier qualification, not your right to use the card.
  • An empty balance: applying and funding are separate steps, so holding no USDT at the moment you apply is fine.
If you are still working out whether the MEXC Card fits you, settle that before a second application rather than after.

Before You Apply Again

A second application built on the same inputs produces the same outcome, so work through the list below first.
  • Confirm the country on your proof of address against the current restricted list.
  • Confirm that Advanced KYC reads as complete, not as under review.
  • Read your name, date of birth, ID number and issuance date off the document itself, field by field.
  • Check whether a card of this type is already open under your identity.
  • Move USDT into the Fiat Account if the fee pop-up shows a First Deposit Amount above zero.
MEXC has not published a reapplication window, so there is no waiting period for anyone to quote you.
If a second attempt is blocked and none of the causes above explains it, MEXC Customer Service is the right next stop.
For the screen-by-screen version, including what each pop-up shows, see the eight application steps for the MEXC Card.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why was my MEXC Card application rejected?
A: The documented causes are a proof-of-address country on the restricted list, incomplete Advanced KYC, details that do not match your ID document, or a card of the same type already open under your identity.

Q: How long does MEXC Card approval take?
A: Review is usually completed within a few minutes, while the Advanced KYC step that has to be finished first is usually reviewed within 24 hours.

Q: My MEXC Card application is still pending, what should I do?
A: Check the status on the My MEXC Card page and confirm Advanced KYC is complete, since MEXC states that inaccurate information causes review delays and requests supporting documentation when it needs it.

Q: I was approved but my card says it is not active, why?
A: Activation is tied to the first deposit, so if the fee pop-up showed a First Deposit Amount above zero, the card turns Active only once that amount is moved across from the Fiat Account.

Q: Do I need a minimum balance or income proof for the MEXC Card?
A: No, because no income proof, asset audit, credit check or minimum balance is required.

Q: Does a low M-Score stop me from getting the MEXC Card?
A: Not outside limited-access markets, where a VVIP M-Score of 600 or above is the tier requirement; below M-Score 350 you can still apply and spend, and cashback tier qualification starts at 350.

Q: Can I apply for the MEXC Global Card if I already have the MEXC Card (APAC)?
A: Generally each verified identity may hold one card of each type, so yes, subject to eligibility, and the two share one monthly cashback cap.

Q: Will I get my initial deposit back if the application fails?
A: Yes, the full amount is returned automatically if the application is unsuccessful.

Q: Can I reapply after a rejection?
A: MEXC has not published a reapplication rule, so fix the cause, check the current lists on the MEXC Card page, and contact Customer Service if a second attempt is blocked.

Conclusion

If you were rejected, start with the country on your proof of address, then read your form fields against the document itself.
If you are still pending, check whether Advanced KYC is finished and whether MEXC has asked you for anything.
If you were approved and the card still is not Active, the answer is usually in the Fiat Account, or rather not in it.
All three are visible from your own account without a support ticket.
Note: Card features, fees, and benefits are subject to change; always check the official MEXC Card page for the latest terms.
