How to Earn Yield on USDe While Trading Futures
To earn yield on USDe while trading futures on MEXC, enable Futures Earn and hold eligible USDe in your Futures account. MEXC displays the token as USDE. Interest depends on qualifying principal and your applicable APR; a leveraged position’s full notional value is not the amount earning base interest.
Activate USDe Yield in the Correct Account
- Log in to MEXC Futures Earn and find USDE. Check the USDe participation requirements, including Primary KYC and regional eligibility, before moving funds.
- Check the USDE APR, minimum principal and interest-bearing cap. Review the terms and enable Futures Earn through the activation control.
- Transfer USDe into your supported Futures account and confirm participation is active. Base interest requires no open position or trading volume, but eligibility and minimum-balance conditions still apply.
If you also intend to use USDe as collateral for USDT-M positions, review Multi-Asset Mode before transferring. That route supports Cross Margin; Isolated Margin is unavailable.
Ethena’s USDe terms state that USDe itself generates no interest for holders. Futures Earn is a separate platform arrangement.
MEXC’s USDe Spot-account offer has different rules: it describes automatic participation from 0.1 USDE in Spot without manual registration. That threshold does not establish the minimum for USDe Futures Earn. A Spot balance is not Futures Earn principal merely because both products support USDe.
Calculate Base Interest on the USDe Amount That Qualifies
MEXC’s published upgrade overview lists a 4.75% USDe base APR. Your logged-in quote governs the applicable rate. MEXC’s personalized APR and principal cap update also explains why individual caps can be lower than advertised maximums.
For a simple full-day estimate:
Daily base interest = eligible USDe principal × base APR ÷ 365.
The examples assume a constant 4.75% APR, USDe valued at $1, 24 hours of eligibility and no compounding. The third row uses a hypothetical 8,000-USDe cap, not a quoted current limit.
| USDe wallet balance | USDe principal earning interest | Futures position notional | Estimated daily base interest |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10,000 USDe | 10,000 USDe | $0 | $1.30 |
| 10,000 USDe | 10,000 USDe | $50,000 | $1.30 |
| 10,000 USDe | 8,000 USDe | $50,000 | $1.04 |
At the same base APR, the first two cases produce identical interest despite different position sizes. The capped case earns about 20% less because only 80% of the wallet balance qualifies. Increasing leverage does not solve that principal-cap constraint.
The estimates exclude trading fees, funding payments, liability interest and trading results. Do not add USDT bonus rates to the USDe calculation unless the USDE offer explicitly provides them.
Check Accrual and Payment Separately
The current Futures Earn FAQ describes hourly interest calculation, next-day credit to Spot and an automatic transfer to Futures. Hourly accrual therefore does not mean hourly payment.
Because interest accrues hourly, a recent transfer does not establish that the higher balance qualified for an entire day. Use the interest-bearing principal recorded for the relevant period when checking the estimate.
If an expected payment is missing, check:
- Whether USDe Futures Earn is active for your account.
- Whether the balance met the minimum and how much principal remained eligible after applying the cap.
- Which period the interest record covers, followed by the Spot credit and Futures transfer histories.
For the collateral decision behind this setup, see USDT vs USDe for futures margin.
Risk Warning
USDe can trade below its dollar target. When used as shared collateral, changes in its recognized value can affect margin coverage. Trading losses and liability interest can exceed Futures Earn income.
