PANews reported on November 27th that, according to The Hacker News, the Qilin ransomware group launched a "Korean Leaks" supply chain attack by breaching a South Korean IT service provider, GJTec, resulting in the loss of 28 financial institutions and over 1 million files totaling 2TB of data. Bitdefender's investigation revealed that the operation is linked to the North Korean-backed APT "Moonstone Sleet" and appears to be in cooperation with the Russian-speaking Qilin group, aiming to pressure the South Korean financial market.
