Japanese crypto exchange and wallet provider Rakuten Wallet has unveiled plans for a physical commemorative coin inspired by Shiba Inu (SHIB), adding a new entry to its existing collection featuring Bitcoin, Ether, and XRP. According to the company’s statement, the coin is still in production, but will soon join the previously announced collectibles series.
Rakuten Wallet disclosed on social media that the SHIB-themed commemorative coin is currently being prepared. The company pointed out that its previous collectible coins—displayed at industry events and trade fairs—received significant attention from visitors, signaling robust interest in such products among crypto enthusiasts.
As a Japan-based digital asset service provider, Rakuten Wallet offers trading and custody solutions for cryptocurrencies. The new SHIB-themed physical coin announcement comes on the heels of the platform recently enabling Shiba Inu trading on its exchange, demonstrating a broader commitment to expanding its product range.
Alongside the physical SHIB coin reveal, Rakuten Wallet launched a fresh campaign aimed at boosting trading activity on the platform. Under the new program, users making spot crypto trades worth at least 30,000 yen are eligible to receive 500,000 SHIB as a reward, encouraging both new and existing customers to increase their engagement.
Furthermore, users whose trading volumes exceed 100,000 yen will be rewarded with an extra 1 million SHIB, on top of the basic bonus. Rakuten Wallet specified that the campaign is accessible exclusively via its own platform and is closely linked to the recent rollout of Shiba Inu trading support.
This promotional move highlights a growing trend among crypto exchanges to leverage tokens with strong community followings through dedicated campaigns. Shiba Inu, in particular, maintains significant brand recognition among retail investors in Japan and other markets, making it a natural choice for such initiatives.
In recent years, various platforms have rolled out rewards programs, trading incentives, and community-driven promotions centered around SHIB. Such activities not only raise awareness for newly listed assets but can also help support greater trading volumes for exchanges.
Rakuten Wallet has also introduced a new social media campaign focused on both Shiba Inu and Dogecoin, aiming to reach a wider audience that includes pet owners as well as crypto users. This dual focus underscores the company’s strategy of appealing to broader consumer segments beyond traditional cryptocurrency investors.
At this stage, Rakuten Wallet has not announced an official release date for the SHIB-themed physical commemorative coin. However, the company affirmed that production is ongoing and that the completed coin will be launched alongside its current lineup featuring Bitcoin, Ether, and XRP collectibles.
