Adobe (ADBE) shares fell 0.30% to $195.96 after an intraday recovery weakened before the session ended. Meanwhile, Adobe announced an agreement to acquire Topaz Labs, a developer of image and video enhancement tools. The deal will expand Adobe’s creative software portfolio and strengthen its position in advanced content production.

Topaz Labs develops tools that sharpen images, reduce noise, restore footage, and increase video resolution. Its technology also supports stabilization, frame interpolation, and professional upscaling across several content formats. Adobe plans to integrate these capabilities into Firefly, Firefly Services, and Creative Cloud applications.
The integration will support photographers, filmmakers, designers, content creators, and large companies using Adobe products. It will also help users combine recorded footage with generated images while maintaining consistent quality. The tools will improve restoration and remastering work for damaged or older visual content.
Topaz Labs serves millions of customers and provides standalone products for professional and personal workflows. Filmmakers, photographers, social media creators, and restoration teams use its software for detailed enhancement work. Adobe expects Topaz Labs products to remain available separately through the company’s website after closing.
The acquisition will also give Adobe access to Topaz Labs’ proprietary Neurostream technology. Neurostream allows large and complex enhancement models to operate locally on standard consumer devices. As a result, users can process demanding visual projects without relying entirely on remote computing systems.
Local processing can reduce waiting times while giving creators more control over sensitive files. It can also support efficient production where internet access remains limited or cloud processing proves impractical. Adobe can expand advanced video enhancement features across more devices and customer groups.
Adobe has increased its focus on tools that connect recorded content with generated visual elements. Its existing portfolio includes Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, Firefly and several enterprise creative services. Topaz Labs adds specialized enhancement systems that improve detail, clarity, motion and overall production quality.
Adobe expects the transaction to close during the second half of 2026. The deal still requires regulatory approvals and satisfaction of standard closing conditions. The companies did not provide financial terms for the planned acquisition.
Topaz Labs Chief Executive Eric Yang will continue leading the company’s team after the transaction closes. Adobe also plans to maintain customer support and continue investing in future Topaz Labs products. Existing users should retain access to the company’s tools during the integration process.
The acquisition follows growing demand for higher-quality images and videos across digital platforms and professional productions. Creators now work across multiple formats, devices, and distribution channels while managing recorded and generated content. Adobe aims to address those needs by adding Topaz Labs’ enhancement technology across its main creative applications.
