Pi Network has introduced a major update to its Launchpad system. Additionally, it launched a new test token called SLICE as it prepares for future ecosystem token launches. The update aims to make participation simpler and more user-friendly. Instead of moving through multiple screens and handling separate staking and commitment steps, users can now enter a commitment amount directly.

The system then automatically calculates their fair-share allocation. The changes follow the first Launchpad test earlier this year, which attracted hundreds of thousands of participants. The launch of SLICE represents another step forward in Pi Network Launchpad updates. It allows the community to test the improved system before future Mainnet token launches.

Pi Launchpad Gets a Simpler Participation Model

According to the Pi Core Team, feedback from the first test token launch highlighted several challenges. Many users struggled to understand how staking and committing Test-Pi worked together. Others completed one step but did not finish the full participation process.

To solve these issues, the updated Launchpad now centers around a single commitment amount. Users decide how much Test-Pi they want to commit, while the platform automatically calculates the required “fair-access hold.” The new model reduces complexity while still supporting fair token distribution across the community. The Core Team said the changes are designed to create a smoother experience for both new and experienced Pioneers.

SLICE Becomes the Second Launchpad Test Token

SLICE is the second token to be tested through the Launchpad, following IRRA. Unlike the first test token, SLICE is linked to a working application called Slice of Pi. This gives the network access to real user engagement data instead of relying on a demonstration environment.

Users can take part in the test launch, explore the app and provide feedback that could help improve future Launchpad features. However, the team emphasized that SLICE has no monetary value. The token exists only on Testnet and will never move to Mainnet. It cannot be traded, sold, or exchanged for cash. The Core Team also warned users to stay away from anyone offering to buy or sell SLICE, describing such offers as scams.

Why Pi Network Is Running These Tests

The Launchpad is intended to do more than distribute tokens. According to the project, ecosystem tokens are designed to help applications attract users and integrate token utility into their products. These tokens could eventually support rewards, payments, governance and other in-app functions. The testing phase also gives developers valuable feedback while helping users learn more about decentralized finance concepts. The SLICE test will remain open until Pi2Day on June 28.

Community Watches Pi2Day Closely

The latest Pi Network developments come as anticipation builds around Pi2Day. Community discussions have focused on several possible updates. It includes smart contract activation, PiDEX progress, Launchpad expansion and broader ecosystem improvements. Some users have also speculated about a future exchange listing, although no official announcement has been made.

For now, the SLICE launch gives Pi Network users an opportunity to experience the next version of the Launchpad. While contributing to its future development.

The post Franklin Templeton CEO Dismisses 50bps Rate Cut Ahead FOMC appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson has weighed in on whether the Federal Reserve should make a 25 basis points (bps) Fed rate cut or 50 bps cut. This comes ahead of the Fed decision today at today’s FOMC meeting, with the market pricing in a 25 bps cut. Bitcoin and the broader crypto market are currently trading flat ahead of the rate cut decision. Franklin Templeton CEO Weighs In On Potential FOMC Decision In a CNBC interview, Jenny Johnson said that she expects the Fed to make a 25 bps cut today instead of a 50 bps cut. She acknowledged the jobs data, which suggested that the labor market is weakening. However, she noted that this data is backward-looking, indicating that it doesn’t show the current state of the economy. She alluded to the wage growth, which she remarked is an indication of a robust labor market. She added that retail sales are up and that consumers are still spending, despite inflation being sticky at 3%, which makes a case for why the FOMC should opt against a 50-basis-point Fed rate cut. In line with this, the Franklin Templeton CEO said that she would go with a 25 bps rate cut if she were Jerome Powell. She remarked that the Fed still has the October and December FOMC meetings to make further cuts if the incoming data warrants it. Johnson also asserted that the data show a robust economy. However, she noted that there can’t be an argument for no Fed rate cut since Powell already signaled at Jackson Hole that they were likely to lower interest rates at this meeting due to concerns over a weakening labor market. Notably, her comment comes as experts argue for both sides on why the Fed should make a 25 bps cut or…
