The New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs will meet in the NBA Finals, a rematch of the 1999 Finals where the latter franchise, led by forwards Tim Duncan and David Robinson, won 4-1. The Spurs’ victory kick-started a 15-year run featuring five NBA titles under legendary coach Gregg Popovich.

Meanwhile, the Knicks’ appearance in the Finals is their first in 27 years, making it arguably the right time for owner James Dolan to sell a stake in the franchise, which hasn’t won an NBA Championship in 53 years.

This year’s Finals will also mark the eighth straight year that there will be a different NBA team to hoist the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy.
