The membership of the Television Critics Association (TCA) issued a statement today condemning ABC’s indefinite suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which is seen by many as the latest in a series of actions aimed at silencing critics of the Trump administration.

In a press release, the organization says, “The Walt Disney Company’s capitulation to the demands of the FCC chair this week represents a wanton disregard of the First Amendment’s guarantee to a right for people and the press to speak without government retribution.”

The group also announced that its membership, “stands with the Writers Guild of America (WGA), which said in a statement it is ‘united in opposition to anyone who uses their power and influence to silence the voices of writers, or anyone who speaks in dissent,” and SAG-AFTRA, which said this “is the type of suppression and retaliation that endangers everyone’s freedoms.’”

Kimmel’s suspension comes two months after CBS announced The Late Show With Stephen Colbert‘s cancellation as Paramount Global awaited the FCC’s ruling on a merger with Skydance, and is the latest example of the Trump administration’s hostility to a free press, including removing the Associated Press from the White House press pool, and Congress defunding the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

The TCA statement goes on to say, “The government attempting to punish creatives, writers, and/or journalists for speech that officials do not like is authoritarianism. Corporations that profit from the words of television stars, writers, and journalists must defend their employees from governmental pressure, which is different from setting their own creative and editorial standards.”

A nonprofit organization founded in 1978, the TCA’s goal is, “to increase the public’s understanding of television; to improve television as an important element in American life and culture; and to encourage activity that adds to the value of television as a communications medium.” Its nearly 250 members are professional journalists — critics, reporters, and editors — who cover television in the United States and Canada.

Via coverage of the television industry, TCA members reach tens of millions of consumers each week and are experts within the industry. The prestigious organization honors outstanding achievements in television and enduring contributions to the medium’s heritage through the TCA Awards each year. This shows that capital and liquidity are moving into alternative cryptocurrencies. At the same time, the altcoin season index has climbed above 80. This suggests that many investors are now shifting away from Bitcoin, with altcoin prices likely to rise as capital rotation takes effect. However, opinions remain divided on Bitcoin price prediction, with many arguing where the flagship crypto will head when the next bear market arrives. One analyst has even predicted that BTC price could correct by as much as 70%. Bitcoin Price Prediction: Analyst Predicts 70% Correction In an interview published on Thursday, the founder of the Quantitative Market Analytics platform Into the Cryptoverse, Benjamin Cowen, said he expects Bitcoin to face a major correction. His Bitcoin price prediction suggested there could be a drawdown of about 70% from whatever the next cycle top or all-time high turns out to be. His view, he explained, comes from past market cycles. Previous bear markets saw Bitcoin price drop by 94%, 87%, and around 77%. According to Cowen, a sharp Bitcoin correction is not guaranteed. ‘Is Bitcoin Stupid?’: Dogecoin (DOGE) Creator Reacts to BTC Price

‘Is Bitcoin Stupid?’: Dogecoin (DOGE) Creator Reacts to BTC Price

The post ‘Is Bitcoin Stupid?’: Dogecoin (DOGE) Creator Reacts to BTC Price appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Bitcoin had another rough week, and Billy Markus, who co-created Dogecoin, used it as an open mic, turning the drop into a running commentary that surely echoed the mood across social media. After BTC spent several sessions struggling to break through, leaving traders staring at levels they never planned to revisit this soon, it is only natural for someone to say what everyone else is thinking. This time it was Billy Markus asking whether Bitcoin is “stupid or something,” and the timing fit perfectly with a chart that moved from $105,000 earlier in the month to repeated prints under $94,000, while liquidation boards confirmed more than $240,000,000 in BTC positions flushed out in a 24-hour period. Markus followed one post with more punches that captured the fatigue of many retail traders after watching the main cryptocurrency in “down only” mode and refusing to bounce. He joked about the “bad price,” telling himself he would buy with deeper discounts but backing out, and about Bitcoin being “this thing that keeps losing value.” Bitcoin in November 2025 These jabs landed because the crypto market had just watched three sessions, where even small relief candles looked decorative. Needless to say, the sentiment right now is at extreme fear levels. You Might Also Like The backdrop was enough to justify his tone as data put BTC at $95,535 in the last session, after hitting a low near $93,763. Mix that with liquidations numbers, and it comes clear how the current environment matches the November pattern, where Bitcoin fails to break out and drags investors through a slow grind that either ends with a “Santa rally” or crypto winter.
