PANews reported on October 19th that, according to Jinshi, the head of the Payment and Settlement Department of the People's Bank of China stated that, through the concerted efforts of all parties, a diversified payment service system has been initially established, with bank cards, mobile payments, and cash developing in parallel and complementing each other. This has significantly improved payment convenience for foreign nationals visiting China. Foreign nationals' awareness and acceptance of mobile payments in my country continues to grow, with "scan" becoming their primary payment method. According to statistics, in the first half of 2025, the number of active mobile payment users for inbound personnel exceeded 10 million, with the number and amount of transactions increasing by 162% and 149% year-on-year, respectively. Moving forward, the People's Bank of China will continue to improve the cross-border RMB payment system, deepen open cooperation in the cross-border payment sector, ensure the stable operation of payment infrastructure, maintain strict supervision of the payment industry, and continuously optimize payment services to better serve the development of a strong financial nation and contribute to the realization of Chinese-style modernization.
