Stellantis, the global carmaker behind familiar names like Jeep, Peugeot, Fiat, and Citroën, is teaming up with Pony.ai, an autonomous-driving startup, to kick off robotaxi development across Europe, according to an official statement shared via PR Newswire.

Under the new partnership, Stellantis’ FCA Italy S.p.A. division will provide vehicles loaded with advanced safety and driver-assist features, while Pony.ai brings its self-driving software to the mix. The companies plan to begin deploying test vehicles based on the Peugeot e-Traveller in Luxembourg in the coming months, followed by a broader rollout across European cities starting in 2026.

Stellantis says the collaboration fits perfectly within its Dare Forward 2030 strategy, which focuses on smarter, cleaner, and more connected mobility. “This partnership with Pony.ai brings together two leaders with a shared vision of sustainable and safe urban mobility,” the company said.

Additionally, Pony.ai is working with global ride-hailing platform Uber to integrate its robotaxis into the Uber app, with initial deployments anticipated in the Middle East. The company is also conducting on-road tests in Luxembourg with Emile Weber and has launched 24/7 testing operations in Seoul’s Gangnam district.
