Muda president Amira Aisya Abdul Aziz won the Puteri Wangsa seat with a 7,114-vote majority during the 2022 Johor election.
PETALING JAYA: Muda president Amira Aisya Abdul Aziz will not be defending her Puteri Wangsa state seat as she will be contesting a parliamentary seat in the next general election, says the party.
In a statement, Muda announced Rashifa Aljuneid as its candidate for the Puteri Wangsa seat in the July 11 Johor election.
The party said Puteri Wangsa holds a special place in Muda’s history as it was where the party secured its first electoral victory in 2022.
“That was not merely a political win. It was a trust that has been carried out daily through community service, advocacy and efforts to address issues faced by the people of Puteri Wangsa,” it said.

Muda said Rashifa, who is Amira’s chief of staff and a key member of the Puteri Wangsa service centre team, has long been actively involved in programmes and initiatives in the constituency.
Muda added that many of the party’s efforts that had proved beneficial for Puteri Wangsa residents would not have been possible without Rashifa’s commitment and coordination with the service centre team.
Amira won Puteri Wangsa with a 7,114-vote majority during the 2022 state election.
Nomination day for the upcoming Johor election is June 27, with early voting on July 7 and polling day set for July 11.
