Watch Rep’s musical Man of La Mancha

FOR the 3rd time since its founding, Repertory Philippines is staging the musical Man of La Mancha. The Tony Award-winning Broadway musical unfolds in a grim Spanish dungeon, where author Miguel de Cervantes must defend himself by telling an imaginative tale. He transforms into Don Quixote, a selfproclaimed knight determined to see the world not as it is but as it ought to be. The show is directed by Nelsito Gomez, with a book by Dale Wasserman, and music and lyrics by Mitch Leigh and Joe Darion. Nonie Buencamino stars as Miguel Cervantes/Don Quixote, Katrine Sunga as Aldonza, and Marvin Ong as Sancho Panza. Also in the cast are Tarek El Tayech, Alfredo Reyes, Mikkie Bradshaw-Volante, Sarah Facuri, and Steven Hotchkiss. Performances will run from June 5 to 28, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., with 3:30 p.m. matinees on Saturdays and Sundays, at the Repertory Eastwood Theater, 4F Eastwood Citywalk, Quezon City.

Hear from authors FH Batacan, Ronaldo Vivo, Jr.

FANS of contemporary Philippine crime fiction are invited to attend a panel that pairs two trailblazing authors — F.H. Batacan and Ronaldo Vivo, Jr. — for “Ang Kabulukan sa Loob ng Makina,” where they will offer radically different yet equally devastating views of social reality and its depiction in literature. This will take place on June 7, from 3 to 5 p.m., at The Studio at Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street, BGC, Taguig. Fans can ask about the authors’ writing, creative influences, and hopes for the genre. Sign up via bit.ly/fbevents2026.

Run or dance for Pride Month

AS PART of the Pride celebration in Araneta City, a special run-and-lifestyle Sunday will be held to highlight the inclusivity of the LGBTQIA+ community. There will also be free HIV testing care of the Quezon City Health Department. This will happen at the Green Gate of the Smart Araneta Coliseum on June 7, from 5 to 9 a.m. Meanwhile, on June 9, the Farmers Plaza activity area is hosting the Quezon City Pride Dance Competition. It celebrates identity through movement and performance, giving members of the LGBTQIA+ community a platform to express themselves. People can come watch the participants for free.
